Biryani Recipe
Ingredients: 2 cups basmati rice 500 grams chicken, cut into pieces 2 onions, thinly sliced 4 tomatoes, chopped 4 green chilies, slit lengthwise 4 cloves of garlic, minced 1-inch piece of ginger, grated 1 cup plain yogurt 1 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon red chili powder 1 teaspoon cumin powder 1 teaspoon coriander powder 1 teaspoon garam masala 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro (coriander) leaves 1/2 cup chopped fresh mint leaves 4 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter) or vegetable oil Salt to taste Saffron strands (optional) Warm milk (optional) Instructions: Wash the basmati rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside. Heat 2 tablespoons of ghee or oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.
